Why we serve."When we think about women and who we are, we see ourselves not only as Women Veterans but as parents, as wifes, as sisters, as providers/caretakers, as future or current caregiver to a spouse, as future/current caregiver to a loved one or as grandparents, a caregiver to a sister or a friend, as head of an household, as single moms or parents, as survivors, and as warriors. Women play so many roles in today's world, but the challenges are even greater for Women Veterans as they go through their own struggle of fitting into the civilian world again and carrying on to care for their own families. In addition, we also have our caregivers who give so much and ask for so little; especially women.
